The 1400x1200 mm wooden pallet is one of the largest made-to-order sizes at ICD Vietnam, engineered for heavy industrial machinery, large electrical equipment and oversized cargo that does not fit a standard pallet. It reaches a 4,000-8,000 kg static load thanks to a reinforced build: 30-40 mm deckboards (versus the standard 22-25 mm) and solid, non-hollow blocks.

For machinery export teams: international packaging standards
For machinery and industrial equipment export teams, ISPM-15 is necessary but not sufficient. International packaging standards for heavy machinery also require: (1) the pallet must withstand a static load at least 3 times the cargo weight (safety factor 3); (2) the cargo must be fixed to the pallet with steel straps or bolts through locating holes; and (3) the cargo's center of gravity (COG) must not exceed two-thirds of the combined pallet-plus-cargo height from the pallet surface. Frequently asked questions
Does the 1400x1200 pallet fit a 20' container?
A standard 20' container has an internal width of 2.352 m and length of 5.900 m. Loading 1400x1200 mm pallets with the 1200 mm side across the container width fits 1 pallet per row (1200 less than 2352); along the length, 4 pallets x 1400 mm = 5,600 mm, under 5,900 mm, so 4 pallets per tier. A 40' container holds about 8 pallets per tier x 2 tiers = 16 pallets depending on cargo weight. Plan your container load early with your carrier.
What does 8,000 kg static load mean in practice?
Static load is the load a pallet bears while fully at rest (not moving, not racked). 8,000 kg static means the pallet can hold machinery up to 8 tonnes on a flat floor. Dynamic load (1,500-3,000 kg) is the limit while a forklift moves it, much lower due to vibration and acceleration. Always size by dynamic load for safety; static load applies only when the cargo is fully at rest.
