For building-material warehouse managers: choosing the right pallet size for sheet metal
For building-material warehouse managers, Vietnamese roofing sheet metal is commonly 1,800-3,600 mm long and 800-1,050 mm wide. Stacking sheet metal on a standard 1200 mm pallet leaves an overhang of up to 1,200 mm at each end, which is dangerous during forklift moves and lets the metal warp without support. A 1500 mm pallet cuts the overhang to 1,050 mm for 3,000 mm sheets, or distributes support better. For metal longer than 3,600 mm, consider the reinforced custom pallets.

Frequently asked questions
Can the 1500x1000 pallet ship on a regular truck?
Yes. The 1000 mm width is within normal transport limits, and the 1500 mm length fits the bed of a 6-tonne truck or larger (bed length 4,200 mm and up). A 20' container holds fewer pallets, though, because its internal length is only 5,900 mm (3 pallets of 1500 mm laid lengthwise = 3,000 mm), giving about 20 pallets per tier instead of 22. Calculate container capacity before placing a large order.
Is there a pallet longer than 1500 mm?
